Synopsis

Pepe is strolling through Parisian construction sites when his sharp eye spots—whiskers fluttering in the wind—the man of his dreams: Vercingetorix. Hoping for an encounter, he sets off in pursuit.

Film inspired by the first page of the book ‘The Pure and the Impure’ by Colette.

Information

This film is part of the third season of "First Page," a collection of seven short films created by young animators who recently graduated from French animation schools. This collection pays tribute to the author Colette by offering an animated interpretation of an excerpt from one of her works.

The collection revisits key themes in Colette’s writing: women’s emancipation, desire, freedom, and social and romantic conventions. First Page also celebrates the diversity of animation techniques, including traditional and digital 2D animation, stop motion, and mixed media.
