A l’occasion d’une réunion de famille, le jeune Léo filme les convives et s’étonne qu’en catimini ces derniers s’attribuent des surnoms animaliers peu flatteurs. Son imagination va alors s’enflammer jusqu’à les imaginer sous la forme d’une spectaculaire ménagerie.
While attending a family reunion, little Léo videotapes the guests and is intrigued by the unflattering animal monikers they secretly call each other. His imagination goes wild, to the point of picturing them as a spectacular menagerie.

Leurs parcours variés ; illustration jeunesse, danse, jeu vidéo, bande dessinée, conception d’univers et personnages, se retrouvent dans un même goût pour l’animation et la narration sensible. Sarah, porteuse du projet et lead décors, développe des mondes riches et centrés sur les personnages ; Alexia explore les effets spéciaux et l’expérimentation ; Timothée s’attache à comprendre et décortiquer l’animation ; Sibylle apporte sa musicalité et son sens du rythme ; Cindy insuffle de la vie et de la personnalité au character design ; Assia travaille le storyboard et la mise en scène des émotions ; Al, venu de l’illustration jeunesse, met son expérience au service du layout et du compositing. Ensemble, ils signent un court métrage poétique qui mêle univers intime, émotion et précision technique.
Born between 2000 and 2003 and trained at the Georges Melies school, Sarah Legras-Marie, Alexia Monnier, Timothee Beauville, Sibylle Bank De Loof, Cindy Ly, Assia Le Tellier and Al Charvet combined their skills to create Langue de Chat. Their diverse paths ; children’s illustration, dance, video games, comics, world building and character creation, meet in a shared passion for animation and sensitive storytelling. Sarah, project lead and background artist, builds rich worlds centered on characters; Alexia brings her love of FX and experimentation; Timothee focuses on dissecting and understanding animation; Sibylle contributes her musicality and sense of rhythm; Cindy breathes life and personality into character design; Assia works on storyboarding and staging emotions; and Al, coming from children’s illustration, brings his experience to layout and compositing. Together, they crafted a poetic short film that blends intimacy, emotion and technical precision.
